Narration As Books Blindness
It takes a while to know who you really are. And when you lose your way, sometimes it’s hard to find it again.Charlie Hudson was on the verge of figuring that out when her dad—the only parent and friend she ever had—died suddenly. She was barely 18, and she was alone. So she went for easy—playing life safe, running away from a home that harbored nothing but bad memories and challenges and loving a man who would take her away from it all forever.
It’s funny how chance takes over when you need it most. And that’s exactly what brought Cody Carmichael into her life. A former motocross super star, Cody was now happy to be living the blue collar life, spending his days finishing up school and his nights under the hood of some classic car, just trying to keep everything his father taught him alive. Cody and Charlie were living parallel lives, until they finally collided. And the moment he smiled at her, Charlie knew he was the one who would change everything. But was she willing to take the risk?
Cody saw through it all. He saw her—all of her. But would letting him in be too much to take? And if Charlie let herself love him—really love him—could he love her back?

I received this ARC via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. The gist: Charlie (Charlotte) has been dating Trevor for about a year. She goes to tutoring and has an instant connection with her tutor, Cody. When her roommate decides to move in with her boyfriend suddenly, Charlie needs to find a new residence ASAP. She moves in with Trevor and immediately realizes Cody is Trevor's stepbrother and there is A TON of animosity between the two guys. Then Trevor gets a job in DC and moves, butI am not a fan of love triangles, this was my only hang up on this otherwise amazing story of self-discovery and finding true love. Cody is a truly beautiful man inside and out. It was heartbreaking to read as his relationship with Charlie evolved. The way they connected was beautiful yet tainted by the fact that she was with his stepbrother.Charlie, Cody and Trevor are all very likable good people on their own. Charlie and Trevor together are sad and lifeless. Charlie and Cody bring out the
Wow.. I am sorta speechless after reading this book. I was drawn in from the first chapter. Charlotte or "Charlie" is on her own in college just trying to make a life for herself. Having been dropped off on her dads porch at age 7 by her druggy mom left her to grow up with a dad who she didn't really know. Not until a boy hurt her.. then her dad woke up and became a dad fully invested in every part of her life. 1 year, she had one year of her dads affection and then he was gone. Finding love
Pov: femaleMain characters: Cody & Charlie Minor characters: Trevor (her boyfriend/his brother), Gabe (his best friend), Jessie (his best friend), Jim (Trevor's dad), Kyla (his ex)My thoughts: I liked this story, but there was room for improvement. It started out slow, but about halfway through the story picks up and gets really good. It reminded me a lot of Thoughtless, but less intense. I did like that Trevor was a good guy though.I would have liked to have more of Cody's point of view. I
Confession time, I stayed up until 4 this morning to finish this dang book! I can't even remember the last itme I did that and this isn't my typical read at all....so yeah. Take from that what you will. :PFull review to come!Edited to add review:I need to admit, right out front, that normally, I'm not one to read books that have anything to do about cheating. I loathe them on principle alone but every now and then, one will come along that will completely capture my attention, and not only hold
Stories about cheating have to tread a very fine line. It's always easier when a girl is obviously with the *wrong guy* and he's a douche. Or abusive. But when he's a decent guy who obviously loves her a lot, then bringing Mr. Love-At-First-Sight into the mix is tricky - though it is better story fodder. For me, Ginger Scott went on the wrong side of the line a few too many times in Blindness. As a character, our heroine Charlie, never quite made it off the page for me. Or rather, we get what we
