Having completed his sentence for the unintentional crime that derailed his youthful plans for fame and fortune, Levi Grant looks to start over in the town of Spencer, Texas. Spencer needs a blacksmith, a trade he learned at his father's knee, and he needs a place where no one knows his past. But small towns leave little room for secrets... Eden Spencer has sworn off men, choosing instead to devote her time to the lending library she runs. When a mountain-sized stranger walks through her door and asks to borrow a book, she steels herself against the attraction he provokes. His halting speech and hesitant manner leave her doubting his intelligence. Yet as the mysteries of the town's new blacksmith unfold, Eden discovers hidden depths in him that tempt her heart. Levi's renewed commitment to his faith leads Eden to believe she's finally found a man of honor and integrity, a man worthy of her love. But when the truth about his prodigal past comes to light, can this tarnished hero find a way to win back the librarian's affections?Rating Out Of Books To Win Her Heart

One of my favorites by Karen Witemeyer and a great one to re-read! Levi is in my top 5 fictional heroes I'm crushing on. He totally carries the story for me, there are so many layers to him even though he appears simple. Eden is delightful and we have a love for books and flower-pressing in common. Their blossoming friendship is lovely and the special moments they share are so romantic! An impulse purchase pays off!I was completely surprised by this book and moreso, my reaction to it. Frankly, I'm not a reader who would consider an inspirational romance for fear of the religious overtones obscuring the story. I purchased To Win Her Heart simply to have some brain candy for the evening. I was looking for something different to read, and the setting and synopsis intrigued me so much I added the story to my Kindle without realizing the story's sub-genre. And am I glad I did.One of
Love love love heroes with a dark past and this was no exception. Levi is such a great hero and the heroine is his perfect match. Excellent and highly recommended!
3.85 starsSecond chances.Don't judge a man by his past, but looked at what he becomes today.
This was a well written historical Christian romance novel. Like all of Karen Witemeyer's books that I have read so far, this one had great characters and both protagonists learned important things during their relationship. I really enjoyed this book, which is now on my favorites list, and I'm glad I was encouraged to read this by a fellow Goodreads group member.
Rating 4.5First read by Karen Witemeyer and it will not be the last. She is such a great writer, making my emotions feel like it is on a roller-coaster - I felt compassion, smiled, laughed, got angry and even had that "aaahhh" feeling. The story started out slow, but kept on building until the climax at the end where I couldn't stop to see what will happen!I loved that the Christian theme about love and forgiveness was so strong! I identified a lot with Eden. Eden had to learn to not be critical
