Assessment Epithetical Books The Waiting (Lancaster County Secrets #2)
In The Waiting, Suzanne Woods Fisher takes the sweet story expected in Amish fiction and adds a kick of realismof racial tension, mental illness, scheming aunties, and Vietnam. I treasured my time with Jorie King and the whole Zook family, sharing their grief and laughterwhat a lovely read.

This is the 2nd book in the series, i would have thought because it set in the time of the Vietnam war it would have been better being the 1st bookThis is a complete change from most Amish books i have read yet it wasn't in other ways it told of Ben Zook who goes to Vietnam & the other brothers who stay behind even how they got called up which i didn't think even happenThere was a bit about Colour which is mention as it was at the time plus about the Amish School & their exam all in all

I liked this one much more than The Choice which should have been the 2nd book.Well drawn characters and subtle humor make this Amish tale a winner.

Very interesting and emotional. I think I may have even liked it more than the first one.

Jorie King's life is on hold. She has been waiting for Ben Zook to return to Lancaster County. Waiting for him to settle down and join the church. Waiting to marry him.But when news arrives that Ben has been killed, Jorie is devastated. She finds unlikely comfort in the friendship of his brother Caleb. Friendship ripens into love, and two broken hearts plan for a life filled with the promise of a fresh beginning--until their worlds are turned upside down. With her realistic characters whose

Much, much better than book 1. A really sweet read.

A beautiful story of patience and long suffering. It is wonderful how God's plan comes through to fruition.I fell deeply in love with the characters. I was happy for them in the end but I cried with them too. It was such a beautifully written story that I would love to read again.
